DAY    2         SAN JOSE - GRECIA - MONTEVERDE (3 NIGHTS)
Our morning begins with a visit to the Grecia World of Snakes.  This serpentarium contains more than 150 snakes, representing more than 50 species.  It is located in the picturesque little town of Grecia, renown for its unusual metal church, painted a deep red with white gingerbread trim.  After lunch in Grecia, we continue to our hotel in Monteverde, which has earned its fame as one of the most outstanding wildlife sanctuaries in the world.  Positioned atop the Continental Divide in Western Costa Rica, the preserve extends down both the Caribbean and the Pacific slopes.  The resultant combination of climatic and geographic factors creates temperature and humidity gradients that change dramatically over relatively short distances.
Meals Included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

DAY    3         BUTTERFLY GARDEN, CLOUD FOREST RESERVE &
                       CANOPY TOUR

This morning we will begin with a visit to the Monteverde Butterfly Garden, which displays many of Costa Rica's most beautiful species.  In addition to the hundreds of preserved and mounted butterflies, there's a garden and a greenhouse where we can observe live butterflies. Next we will have the opportunity to enjoy the Monteverde Cloud Forest.  We begin the day with a Trail Walk in the Monteverde Reserve, where we will view the diverse selection of flora and fauna as the reserve is home to six different vegetation communities, over 100 species of mammals, 400 species of birds, 120 species of amphibians and reptiles, and 2,500 species of plants (among them 500 different kinds of orchids).  This afternoon we will enjoy the Original Canopy Tour, where we will go soaring from platform to platform through the canopy of the rain forest.  We will enjoy a sense of freedom and adventure like none other in the world.
Meals Included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

DAY    4         SKY WALK, COFFEE PLANTATION & FROG POND
This morning we will enjoy Sky Walk, a network of forest paths and suspension bridges that provides visitors with a view previously reserved for birds, monkeys, and the much more adventurous traveler.  The bridges reach heights of 128 ft. above the ground at their highest point, and provide all with a thrilling adventure.  This afternoon we will take the Monteverde Coffee Tour, an educational activity to learn and see how local coffee production works.  During our tour we will visit the farms and the Mill, before ending up in Café Monteverde Coffee Shop. (During the harvest season the visitors also have the opportunity to participate and collect coffee.)  This evening we will visit the Frog Pond of Monteverde, where we will enjoy a tour to view and learn about a variety of species housed in a series of glass terrariums.
Meals Included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

DAY    5         MONTEVERDE - TARCOLES - CARARA NATIONAL PARK -
                       MANUEL ANTONIO  AREA (2 NIGHTS)

This morning we leave Monteverde and journey to Manuel Antonio National Park along the Pacific Coast.  This afternoon we will stop and have a look over the Tarcoles Bridge, where we will have the opportunity to view, from a safe distance, the largest crocodiles in Costa Rica.  We continue to nearby Carara Biological Reserve, a world-renowned nesting ground for scarlet macaws.  We will enjoy a hike along the loop trail, where we will keep an eye out for the magnificent scarlet macaw.  The macaws migrate daily, spending their days in the park and their nights among the coastal mangroves.  Other wildlife that we may see will include: caimans, coatamundis, armadillos, pacas, peccaries, river otters, kinkajous, and hundreds of species of birds.  We continue to our hotel in the Manuel Antonio area.
Meals Included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

DAY    6         MANUEL ANTONIO NATIONAL PARK
Today we will enjoy Manuel Antonio National Park, one of Costa Rica’s most visited places and one of the most beautiful locations in the entire country.  The park features spectacular beaches and its jungles are crawling with white-faced and squirrel monkeys, among other forms of exotic wildlife. We begin our morning with a guided Rainforest Hike, where we will go in search of the magnificent white-faced capuchin and squirrel monkeys, as well as many of other beautiful flora and fauna.  Our walk concludes on the idyllic beaches within the park and we will spend the remainder of the afternoon soaking up the sun.  Late this afternoon we will travel to the hillside of the park and gaze down on the blue Pacific.  We will get postcard like views of the rocky islands that dot the vast expanse of blue, and in the foreground, the rich, deep, green of the rainforest sweeps down to the water.
Meals Included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

DAY    7         MANUEL ANTONIO - PUNTA LEONA (1 NIGHT)
Today we say goodbye to the lush rainforest of Manuel Antonio and continue out to Punta Leona, with beautiful white sand beaches.
