"I
would like to thank Casterbridge for finding us some lovely restaurants
for authentic cuisine, as I had requested. The students loved the
various locations and types of meals."

ining out and sampling local specialties should be one of the cultural
highlights of any tour abroad, and we always try to give our groups a
taste of the local cuisine.
WHAT'S
FOR DINNER?...
Dinners will either be in the hotel or in local restaurants. Often on
tour there will be a mix of both for convenience and also to give a chance
to sample meals at local restaurants. The restaurants we select will serve
authentic and traditional meals representing each country/region's typical
menu. Sometimes there will be a set menu, while other times you can select
from a range of dishes.
| BUT
WHAT ABOUT LUNCH?...
After morning sightseeing, we generally combine lunch with some free
time - generally an hour or two, in a specific area for students to
shop or spend time in smaller groups before meeting up again for afternoon
activities. As each student has different desires for lunch and soft
drinks, we usually find it easier for students to buy lunch individually.
When lunches are at the expense of individual group members and are
not pre-booked, this also provides an element of flexibility to each
day. Your guide will recommend local cafes, restaurants or bakeries.
We suggest budgeting $15 - $20 per day for lunches, snacks and drinks.
If necessary, of course, we can arrange for a group to lunch together
and include it in your costing if this is the Group Leader's preference. |
