How Does Casterbridge Compare To Other Group Travel Agents?

When comparing tour operators, it is important to keep in mind that the fine print in the literature of many educational travel companies often conceals numerous contingencies of which a group leader may be unaware at the time booking.

1. Are any of your prices based on combining our travel group with other tour groups?
CASTERBRIDGE = NO. We never combine groups.
OTHER COMPANIES = YES. Most companies will normally combine groups to reduce their costs.
2. Will you guarantee our tour dates at time of booking?
CASTERBRIDGE = YES. We always guarantee your tour dates at time of booking.
OTHER COMPANIES = NO. Many other tour companies reserve the right to change your tour dates and flights up to 7 days from your original date.
3. Do you add a registration or membership fee to your travel costs?
CASTERBRIDGE = NO. We have no registration or membership fees.

4. Are airport taxes and fuel surcharges always included in your tour costs?
CASTERBRIDGE = YES. Unless you request otherwise, we include all airport taxes and fuel surcharges.

5. Are weekend flight supplements always included in your tour costs?
CASTERBRIDGE = YES. We include all weekend flight supplements.

6. Do you have an adult or twin room supplement fee to be applied to your costs?
CASTERBRIDGE = NO. All our standard costs are based on twin-rooms.
OTHER COMPANIES = YES. Most operators add a flat fee for a twin room, plus about a $25-$45 surcharge per day.
7. Will you guarantee there are no optional excursions on your educational travel programs?
CASTERBRIDGE = YES. We don’t believe in optional excursions. All admission prices are included in our costs.
OTHER COMPANIES = NO. Supplements vary, but can add up to hundreds of dollars for your group.
8. Will you ensure that all group members have a subway or bus pass (or equivalent) in capital cities?
CASTERBRIDGE = YES. Unless you request a private bus, we always include subway or bus passes in capitals and certain other large cities.
OTHER COMPANIES = Usually, NO. Most tour operators don’t provide passes and even make you pay for transport to get to their walking tours!
9. Are there any additional admission costs not included in your tour cost?
CASTERBRIDGE = NO. All admission prices are included in our costs.
OTHER COMPANIES = YES. Most operators offer optional admissions, which you have to pay for on top of your original tour cost.
10. Will a Tour Manager/Guide be available 24/7, exclusively for our educational travel group?
CASTERBRIDGE = YES. Every Casterbridge tour has its own exclusive Tour Manager/Guide, coach, and driver.
OTHER COMPANIES = Usually, tour operators give you a part-time tour manager who handles several groups at once.
