In the Footsteps of the Impressionists
One of the most requested Impressionist tours is a program titled “In the Footsteps of the Impressionists.” This thematic tour takes your group on a journey from the very beginnings of the movement through its later stages and the beginnings of the Post-Impressionist movement. The tour includes inspirational sites and settings, homes and studios, as well as galleries featuring the works of the great impressionist artists.
This tour begins on the Normandy coast at Honfleur, where you will see how the light reflects off the water and the beautiful buildings. Then make your way to Giverny to explore Monet’s House and Gardens. Enjoy the great museums of Paris, including the Musée d’Orsay, the Musée Rodin, the Musée Marmottan-Claude Monet, and the Orangerie. Next, head to the South of France and explore Provence, a beautiful land that brought inspiration to Cézanne, Gauguin and van Gogh. Conclude your tour on the Côte d’Azur, a beautiful region that inspired Signac, Renoir, Picasso, and Matisse, just to name a few.
